StickWithUs.org
StickWithUs.org now offers private (individual & small group) lessons to the beginning player. We offer the opportunity to learn the game of lacrosse on your schedule & this new program does not require the purchase of any gear. We start with basic stick handling and skills in a "laid back" friendly atmosphere. Classes are taught by MYL Director Michael Desmond. Coach Desmond has more than 15 years experience as a teacher and has coached sports at a variety of levels from college football to elementary school basketball. He holds a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Stony Brook University, NY and as an educator understands the teaching progression of basic skills necessary for success. Coach Desmond still believes that participation, learning the correct skills, is far more important than competition at the youth level. Looking for the best way for serious players to prepare for the upcoming season? Then High Intensity Lacrosse Training (H.I.L.T.) might be for you.
What is H.I.L.T?
The best way to describe H.I.L.T. is to tell you what we are not: We are not a day at the Beach. We are not a Vacation Spot. We do not have optional drills. We are not boring.
At H.I.L.T. we are first and foremost teachers. We are here to make you a better player. Our main goal is to provide you with the atmosphere, tools and programs that will help you reach your full potential.
We believe in hard work and long days. We believe in wall-ball and one-on-ones, and staying after practice to shoot. We believe in not just knowing how you do something, but when and why you do it. We believe in the spirit of the game, the power of one, and the promise of the team. we believe that if you get knocked off the horse, that you should climb right back on, and that stopping a goal is just a glorious as scoring it.
We are not for everyone. But if you love lacrosse, and aren't afraid of a lot of hard work and sweat, want to be the best player you can be, then we are probably for you. Our ultimate goal is develop Charlotte's top players into the Nations top players.
